COMPANY HISTORY

The origin of Green Bikes stems from a period over the summer of 2020 when Co-Founder Tom helped run a corporate catering business owned by his father, Jon, as Jon fought with illness. Other Co-Founder and university friend Jack came on to help keep the business afloat and they theorise a way to take the business into the new era.

WHAT DO WE DO

Green Bike Food Company was set up to provide high-quality food to hungry office workers all while minimising the impact on the environment.

 We offer a wide range of delicious breakfast & lunch platters, canapes & salads designed for you to make the most out of your meetings & training days. We also provide catering for those looking to have everything packed and prepared for the individual with our well-presented Green Bike bags.

HOW ARE WE SUSTAINABLE?

Through Implementing environmentally friendly practices throughout our operations, such as recycling, composting, and reducing waste. Also, by opting for eco-friendly disposable or reusable serving ware.

DELIVERY

All of our drivers operate electric powered vehicles when delivering our food. This is a hugely important aspect of our eco-friendly operation and the longevity of Green Bike Food Company.

STRIPE CLIMATE

We focus not only on how we can do less harm to the environment, but also on how we can actively improve it. Through our partnership with Stripe Climate, a percentage of our revenue is used to aid the removal of carbon from the atmosphere.

We believer carbon removal technologies a much more effective long-term strategy than those that focus on offsetting through planting trees.

RE-USABLE COLLECTION

Selected products from our menu are delivered using reusable materials. We will schedule a collection where they are then sanitized and prepared for further use, creating a sustainable loop that minimizes environmental impact and promotes responsible consumption.

MINIMAL WASTE

By minimizing food waste, we preserve resources, save money, and reduce the environmental impacts of food production and disposal. Adopting these practices helps create a more sustainable and efficient food system.

RENEWABLY POWERED

Utilizing renewable energy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and other environmental impacts associated with fossil fuel combustion. By transitioning to renewably powered systems, we can mitigate climate change and improve air quality, protecting ecosystems and biodiversity.

PACKAGING

We exclusively use recyclable packaging as our research revealed that biodegradable and compostable options are only effective with proper disposal at industrial compost sites. Recognizing that cardboard becomes non-recyclable once it absorbs grease or moisture from food, we avoid it entirely. Instead, we select materials that ensure continued recyclability, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
